I am a walking advertisement for wearing too much black clothing, and if it’s not black it’s probably white or grey. My wardrobe is monochrome madness. However, since picking up the pink/nude top I’m wearing here from Missguided I’ve become obsessed with it and love pairing it with my black Asos skinnies, which are no longer available but these are practically the same. I feel it takes a bit of edge off of the jeans and it’s refreshing to add a bit of pink into my wardrobe now that Spring is fast approaching. I am challenging myself to add a bit of colour this year and make what I wear a bit more interesting, we’ll see how that goes…

Hello, it’s me. (I’ve been listening to Adele, clearly)
Today’s post is all about the brand ‘MUA’ or Makeup Academy if you like to be proper. Well, I say all about it but really it’s just about the 3 products of theirs that I own…

First up is the ‘Heaven and Earth’ eyeshadow palette. I’ve had this palette for a couple of years now so it can often get a bit lost in my collection but every now and then I rediscover it and go through periods of time where I reach for it everyday. I’m currently going through one of these phases. The eyeshadows themselves are quite buttery and so easy to blend, for the price of £4 for 12 shadows I really can’t complain about the quality of them. The only downside of this palette for me is that there a zero matte shades as I am a massive matte lover.

Moving onto the lipsticks. I have 2 lipsticks, a nude, which is very brown toned  (and in the picture below almost looks berry but I promise it’s nude) and a coral shade. Both are creamy to apply and aren’t drying in the slightest however they are quite sheer so do require some build up to get the full effect. The fact they’re quite sheer isn’t really an issue for me as for £1 I’m not to bothered if I have to apply a couple of times for the desired effect. The shade range on these is quite large as well, with 18 shades in total varying from nude to black there really is something for everyone. I think I’ll be looking to hit superdrug to stock up on some more shades very soon.

The main downfall of these lipsticks is they’re longevity isn’t the best. However, I combat this with an amazing product called Lipcote – available from Boots here – which locks your lipstick in and keeps it in place for about 6 hours. I’ll be doing a post on this bad boy in the very near future as it is one of my holy grail lip products.

MUA is available from superdrug here or their own site.
Have you tried anything from this brand? What’s your favourite item been?

Until next time I’m back off down the rabbit hole.

It’s Mother’s Day here in the UK and it seemed mandatory I do a blog post because if I can’t brag about how great my mother is and why I love her so much on here then what even if the point of this blog?

My mummy (yes I call her mummy at 20) is my bestest friend in the whole world and quite frankly she’s my hero. My mum is a fighter, a survivor and the most selfless person I’ve ever known. She is both my mum and my dad and to be quite honest I am so happy about this, my dad is a bellend but we don’t need to dwell on that now.

Like a lot of families nowadays my mum did it on her own, she brought up 3 children and she did it so well. She is an inspiration to me because if she can survive everything she’s survived then I’m sure I can survive anything life throws at me. This past year has been a very difficult time for my Mum and my family in general. My mum is a manic depressive and last year saw her have a giant wobble, wobble probably wouldn’t be quite the word, and it was a very scary time for me but she came out the other side and made us all proud.

If I try and think about all the things she’s done for the 3 of us it makes my head hurt, I can’t even comprehend what she’s done and the things she’s given up. She went without so many times, she overcame so many challenges, she stayed strong for each of us when she felt like crumbling herself.

Me and my brothers are the luckiest people in the world, without a doubt. My mum is always there to listen, to laugh with and to cry with. I don’t get to spend as much time with her now as I’d like but what time we do spend together is always time that is well spent. Her company is my favourite.

I will forever be grateful to the masterpiece of a woman that is my mother. You’re my best friend, my soul mate and my hero.

Loving you always mummy, your Angel Baby.

-What do you love about your mum? Or if your mum isn’t a part of your life, about your parent?

Until next time I’m back off down the rabbit hole.

Hello lovelies, how are we all?

I’m going to start by apologising in case this post is a big ol’ shambles. The photos aren’t the best in the world but this is my first outfit post so be a darling and let me off just this once please!

I recently picked up this dungaree dress that featured in my recent haul which I absolutely adore and thought I’d show you lovely lot how I chose to style it.

I chose to team with a white shirt that I got from Next a few months ago, back in the days of 25% discount (ahh I miss you my dear old friend). I went for this look as I was wearing it to work so wanted to give it a formal edge. There’s quite a few things you could pair this beauty with though, my recommendations would be a black and white stripe top or a cream polo neck.

For accessories I kept it very simple with my go to everyday accessories, a few rings, the same necklace I’ve worn everyday for 2 years – my brother got it for me for my 18th, and my Michael Kors watch which was also gifted to me by my brother for my 18th birthday.

Make up wise I chose to go for a pretty simple look, with the focus being orange lipstick. My go to look when I’m feeling lazy is winged liner and a bright lip, it never fails for me. This lipstick was added after the above photo and I was just too lazy to retake the picture of the outfit, apologies for being useless!

Eek that’s a big picture of my face… If you do happen to be interested then the lipstick I’m wearing is Borjouis Rouge Edition in shade 10.

How would you style the dress? Do you think the shirt was a good choice or not? Let me know down below!

Until next time I’m back off down the rabbit hole.

Hello my lovelies, how are you? Are you good? I hope so. If not, below are a few things I do to help turn a bad day around.
Now, none of us are strangers to those God awful days where you feel like you want the world to swallow you up. These days are nobodies friend and I’d hate to know you guys were suffering so I thought Id share 5 ways I cheer myself up.

1) Watch some stand up
I like to watch one of my favourite stand up comedians to help give me a laugh. My go to tends to be Micky Flannagan but I do quite often reach for Micheal McIntyre. These are both comedians I can watch time and time again and still feel a smile creep across my face from the same old jokes. I tend to do this sporting my favourite pair of pjs with a cup of tea in hand.

2) Look up inspirational quotes
This sounds rather silly but when I’m feeling down I like to scour the web (I say web but really only instagram or pinterest) for some feel good quotes that help you get your mojo back. I love to read a good quote and think ‘you know what? This is so true. Come at me life’.
IMG_1503[1]This is one of my favourite quotes, don’t let anything stop you from being whatever version of yourself you want to be!

3) Pamper yourself
If ever you need a pamper it’s when your day has essentially turned to shit. Why not run a bath with your favourite bath bomb/melt/bubble bar/whatever it is that tickles your fancy? Grab the candles. Whip out your favourite face mask. Do the whole damn shabang. If you’re the sort of person who enjoys a glass of wine then indulge in wine and a bath at the same time.

4) 30 second dance party
It doesn’t have to be 30 seconds, this is just taken from my beloved Grey’s Anatomy. Whenever the two female leads, Meredith and Christina, are going through a tough time they dance it out. Put on your favourite song and dance around your room like an idiot. For 30 seconds your body will feel free from all the worry, I promise you that.

5) Plan something to look forward to
It doesn’t have to be an extravagent trip or event, the smaller things are worth getting excited about too. Talk to a friend and arrange to meet up for a coffee or lunch or whatever you guys like to do together, plan a family day, a shopping trip, starting a new book, a personal project etc the list could go on forever based on your personal taste. Whatever it is that gets you excited then go ahead and put a plan in place, or begin right away if possible. Having something to look forward to always makes the bad days more bearable.
Anyway, I hope you found these tips somewhat useful and that at least one of them manages to add a smile to your face, even if it is a only a tiny one.

What do you do to cheer yourself up? Do you do any of the things I’ve mentioned in this post?
Until next time, I’m off back down the rabbit hole.
