Hello my lovelies, how are you all? This week I went out for the day with my lovely mama and we went to lunch at Bill’s. I’d only ever been for breakfast before which was delicious so I was excited to go for lunch. I find Bill’s can be marmite, people either love or hate it, so here’s our experience.

First of all, I absolutely love the aesthetic of Bill’s it’s so rustic and warm in a way that instantly makes you feel welcome. All the little decor items such as teapots with flowers in and the adorable little jars with sugar cubes in just make me go ‘awww’. Although, selfie lighting was poor so can’t give full marks I’m afraid. #bloggerprobs

We didn’t have a specific waiter/waitress but everyone who served us was very polite and friendly so really can’t fault them for that. For drinks we were slightly ‘boring’ and just went for a pot of tea (me) and a latte for my dearest mummy. Both were lovely but especially the latte, my mum ranked it above Costa and Cafe Nero!

Moving onto the best part, the food, I had the Halloumi and Hummus burger with a brioche bun. This isn’t something I would usually order as I’m all about the meat but bloody hell was it lovely. The hummus was red pepper and complimented the halloumi so well, especially with the roasted peppers included in the burger. The chips were lovely as well, just your standard chip really though.

My mum had the classic Bill’s burger with cheese, which I didn’t photograph  (bad blogger) but she said it tasted amazing. The only downside was that her chips came out absolutely stone cold! The waiter did bring her out a fresh, piping hot, lot within minutes and did take the cost of her latte off of the bill though so all’s well. I’m not one to let things like that put me off of a place, they dealt with it swiftly so no harm done.

Overall, I really enjoyed our lunch at Bill’s and would definitely go back again. I probably order the halloumi burger again too because one, it was delicious and two, I’m at creature of habit. Not only was the food lovely but it was also so nice to spend some quality time with my mother dearest as we see each other far less now!

Have you been to Bill’s before? What are your thoughts?

Until next time, I’m back off down the rabbit hole.

Hello my lovelies, hope you’re all well! I’m a bit late to the party on this one but todays post is bought to you (largely) by my boyfriend as he tries to work out what on earth make up is. I’m pretty sure the original post was by Alice at daintyalice.com.

I asked him what he htinks each thing is for/what it does and this is what he said. Please bear in mind this comes from a man who complimented me the other day by saying ‘your eye make up mascara stuff looks fleeky today’ so I think he did pretty well.

“The first thing you put on, to build a foundation for your face. My sister uses too much of it.” (Not true, Jazz always looks great).

“It conceals your dark soul and also blemishes and stuff”. He did well on this one.

Face Powder

“The stuff that women are always going to the bathroom to put on their nose. You put them on with those big puffy things right?” I feel like he’s basing this one purely on films/TV.

“That shit you put on your cheeks to make them go rosy red”. Close enough, even if I do prefer peach tones.

“The thing you put on to accentuate things like your pretty eyes.” I mean, I’m not quite sure about the eyes bit but it was good until that point.

“Used to draw lines on your face to make your cheekbones look like razors”. I mean maybe blend those lines a bit but other than that, yeah sure.

Eyebrow pencil
“You use it to draw eyebrows on your face. Some people (not you) draw caterpillars instead.” Alright love, put the claws away.

Eye Shadow

“It’s what you use to make a smokey eye thing.” Other eye shadow looks are available.

Eye Liner

“The scariest part of make up because you put a pencil on your eye.” I mean, he’s not wrong.

“You put it on your eyelashes to make them long and stuff.” Cant really fault him on that one.

Lip Liner

“Stuff you put round your lips, I feel its unnecessary.” Well I think you’re unnecessary, Zach.

“You put it on your lips to make them a different colour.” Nailed it babe.

Overall, I think he did pretty well actually. Looks like he might actually listen to me when I talk about this stuff after all.

Have you done this post before? Leave me a link so I can see what your SO said too!

Until next time, I’m back off down the rabbit hole.

Hello my lovelies, hope you’re all well and had a fab Christmas! I’ve decided to jump on the bandwagon and do a post reflecting back on my 2016.

Midway through the year I went completely MIA in the blogging community, I lost my passion and just wasn’t happy with a single thing I wrote so firstly, sorry for being a crappy blogger.

My year has been a bit of a rollercoaster, it has contained the saddest moments of my life but also some of the happiest moments. Unfortunately, 2016 was the year that death and all his friends came (as you’re probably all aware) but for me it wasn’t just celebrities as I lost 3 close family members in the space of 12 months. This was extremely difficult to deal with as I hadn’t lost anyone close to me before and wasn’t really sure how to process it, just when I thought I had dealt with it 4 days before Christmas my Auntie Bar died so I’m really just starting again but will get there.

This year for me was all about my family, it was about spending time with my mum, step dad, brothers and nephews and strengthening the close bond we already had. We went on new adventures, watched my nephews grow from babies into little boys, shared lots of cuddles over sad and happy moments, burst with my pride at my brother’s success with his job and held each other up through the harder times.

I also met a lovely man named Zach who gave me back my faith in love. At the start of the year I was struggling with going through a break up from the man I truly believed would be the only man I would ever love. Fast forward to July, 8 months after the split, at a work party I wasn’t even going to go to Zach came up to me as I was sat on a step and began a conversation. I’m afraid the story of how we met isn’t too cute though: he came up to me, I wondered why he was talking to me but politely chatted, he then came and found me later at the bar where I was feeling rather ill and just walked away from him. I felt so bad for walking away that I sent him a message on Facebook and apologised where he asked to take me on a date, I agreed but was really going as a ‘pity date’, turns out he’s actually kinda great and within a month we were ‘official’. We’re currently 5 months in and it’s safe to say that I did fall in love with another man, even if he is a slightly annoying man-child.

Through Zach I also met my bestie, his flat mate Caroline, who can only be described as being my ‘person’. We cuddle on the sofa watching Grey’s Anatomy whilst Zach is out or doing his own thing, we bring each other tea in the morning and constantly lift each other up. To be honest, I think Caroline might actually be the one I’m in a relationship with and Zach just brings the dick…

Towards the end of this year I was told I would be getting made redundant and to be honest, I’m so bloody glad this happened. I was miserable at my job and am only glad I was there as long as I was because I met Zach. It made me think about what made me happy and for the short term that was definitely going back to my old job at Next, which isn’t exactly glamorous but I’m damn good at it and the job and the people make me happy so for now I’m sticking with it.

All in all, this year has been pretty crazy and I’ve both loved and hated it at the same time. I’ve created a lot of new memories and learnt a lot of self-love which I will be taking forward into 2017 with me. I for one am looking forward to the new adventures waiting for me in 2017 and I hope you are too.

Until next time, I’m back off down the rabbit hole.

Hello my lovelies, how are we all? It’s been so long since I posted on here cause I’m an awful blogger but I’m back! Today I’m going to share with you 5 quotes that I think are great to live by!

“Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn”

I love this one as it’s a different way to look at things when it all goes tits up! There is always something to learn from a bad situation, you usually can’t see it at the time but looking back you’ll realise.

“Be gentle with yourself, you’re doing the best you can”

Always remember to be good to yourself, your best is all that you can do. Even if you think it’s not enough, I promise you that it most certainly is!

“When everything feels like an uphill battle, just think of the view from the top”

Sometimes life all just feels too much to handle and you feel like you’re never going to move forward from where you are, but you will and it will be so worth the battles you faced along the way.

“It’s the little things in life”

It’s such a simple quote that is said over and over again but it’s so true! It’s so important to find happiness in the simple things otherwise no one would ever be happy. When me and my mum go through bad phases we ‘look for the sparkly bits’ in each day!

“You got this girl”

When things get tough always remember that you got this! It may take a few attempts but you can do it.

What are some of your favourite quotes?

Until next time, I’m back off down the rabbit hole!
